PIL against 'Pran Pratishtha' on Jan 22

A legal challenge has emerged in the Allahabad High Court against the impending "Pran Pratishtha Mahotsav" – the consecration ceremony for the Ram Lalla idol at Ayodhya's Ram temple. The petition, filed by Bhola Das of Ghaziabad, argues that the ceremony, scheduled for January 22nd, violates Sanatan tradition as religious programs are prohibited during the current Paush month according to the Hindu calendar.

The petition further highlights objections raised by four Shankaracharyas and suggests the event is a political ploy by the BJP government ahead of the 2024 general elections. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is still expected to perform the ceremony at the newly built temple on the designated date.
